Description

“Don’t Tread on Me” began on the so-called “Gadsden Flag, which features a rattlesnake coiled above the expression on a yellow background.  The flag’s namesake is Christopher Gadsden, a brigadier general from South Carolina during the American Revolution.

• Obverse: “Don’t Tread on Me” circles the top, and “Live Free or Die” across the bottom with a textured background, surrounding a high-relief deep hand-hammered dish in the center, and a coiled rattle snake surrounded by 50 stars representing all 50 states.
• Reverse: High-Relief Intaglio Mint logo set on radial burst surrounded by stippled border reading “ONE HALF TROY OUNCE” above and “.999 FINE SILVER” below on textured background, flanked by mintage year in roman numerals “MMXXI”.
