    Celebrating the four year anniversary of the first in the “Molon Labe” series by Intaglio Mint!

    Molon Labe, meaning “come and take it” is a traditional Greek phrase expressing defiance, believed to be spoken by the Spartan King Leonidas when the Persian armies demanded the surrender of their weapons. The expression is commemorated in this one-ounce silver art medal.

    • Obverse: Effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, the words “ELIZABETH II, the country, “NIUE,” the denomination,”TWO DOLLARS,” and the year “2022” surrounding.  A Spartan Shield around the outer circumference.
    • Reverse: The Detailed depiction of Soldier in Spartan regalia holding a spear and shield, with a battle scene in the background, and the words “MOLON LABE” positioned at the point of the spear.
