Description

The creature, originally created in 1954, is a seven-foot-tall amphibious “living fossil.” With its extremely powerful clawed hands and feet, it is able to swim swiftly and with great agility, staying submerged for long periods of time.

The Swamp Creature will often target human females for capture; possibly to mate or feed on as they will offer the least resistance. More likely, he is drawn to women as a result of the popular “Friend of All Living Creatures” trope, for in all the original films, the Creature demonstrates a protectiveness for the film’s female protagonist, and in most films, only the female characters treat him with any compassion, whereas in his second film the male protagonist uses an electric prod to torture him.
