During World War II, Allied aircraft pilots used the term “foo fighters” to describe unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and mysterious aerial phenomena they saw in the skies. The term was first reported in November 1944, and witnesses believed the foo fighters were secret weapons used by the enemy.

• Obverse: A depiction of events that are said to have transpired during WWII. A large UFO with clouds and WWII-style planes around.  The seal of the “UNITED STATES ALIEN PROPERTY CUSTODIAN” below the UFO and “FOO FIGHTERS to the left and below.
• Reverse: Two large UFOs with Intaglio Mint on top UFO and M6 on lower UFO, set on a background of rows of smaller UFOs.  Hallmark at 6 pm, “1 TROY OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER.”
