Description
This 2025-dated silver round revives the iconic Barber Half Dollar design, originally issued by the U.S. Mint from 1892 to 1915. Struck in .999 fine silver and sized at 30mm, it contains a full half-troy ounce of pure silver. The obverse features Charles E. Barber’s classic Liberty head—wearing a Phrygian cap and laurel wreath—surrounded by the word “LIBERTY”, with the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” above and the date 2025 below.
Combining 19th-century elegance with modern purity, this tribute piece honors a key era in American coinage and makes a sharp addition to any collection.
Not legal tender. For collectors only.
Obverse: The obverse of the 1915 Barber Half Dollar features a right-facing bust of Liberty, designed by Chief Engraver Charles E. Barber. Liberty wears a Phrygian cap and a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon, symbolizing freedom and victory. The word “LIBERTY” is inscribed on her headband. Above her head, the motto “IN GOD WE TRUST” arcs along the upper rim. Thirteen six-pointed stars—representing the original colonies—line both sides of the portrait, with seven on the left and six on the right. The date “2025” is centered at the bottom. The design is clean, formal, and distinctly neoclassical, reflecting the style of early 20th-century U.S. coinage.
Reverse: The reverse features a stylized Ionic column forming the letter “T” at the center, representing Intaglio Mint, with “INTAGLIO” above, “MINT” below, and “EST. 2010” beneath the column. A dotted border surrounds the central design, while the outer rim bears the inscriptions “ONE HALF TROY OUNCE” at the top and “.999 FINE SILVER” at the bottom, separated by stars. A final ring of stars encircles the entire design, giving the piece a balanced and classic look.
